Learn how to improve and practice 'hard to quantify areas' such as mental skills, scoring skills, and perfroming under pressure; based on areas highlighted in your assessment.
Balancing 40% variable practice, 20% on-course, and 20% maintenance work.
Over the next six months you'll follow a programme that consists of three phases. These phases are designed to build upon the last, and support your transition over the winter - from range, home, and studio, back on to the course.
Why practice different.
Improvement does not typically follow a linear progression, taking improved techniques/skills to the course often requires more than simply practicing those things at the practice area. So most golfers who set out to practice over the winter eventually give up.
Not using feedback to check if they’re actually improving.
Repeating the same shots without variety, creating false confidence that doesn’t transfer to the course.
Trying to fix everything at once and getting overwhelmed.
Practicing a lot but not deliberately—confusing quantity with quality.

A graph showing what deliberate practise can look like over time.
That’s where this programme comes in. It’s built around three clear phases that teach you not just what to practice, but how to practice:
My final thought are this. The key to success in this programme is simple: What you put in is what you’ll get out.
Commit to the process, and you’ll see lasting progress.
Phase 1: Focused block practice (80%) to build technical fundamentals on specific areas for improvement.
Phase 2: Introduce variability (66%) and performance practices to link practice and play.
Phase 3: Balanced blend of variety, on-course work, and maintenance practice, to consolidate all your work and further drive improvement.
This structured approach ensures you make real, lasting improvements—guided by proven drills, feedback, and accountability.
From my experience, some of the most common reasons I see are:
Last year, clients who signed up to the winter package programme decreased their handicap by
3.5 shots

"Sessions were well structured, focusing on specific tasks which could be carried out at home, at the range or on the course. Marc is very encouraging, with explanation at right level for me, i.e. not too technical! These sessions built my confidence, so I started to enjoy playing golf again and delighted with my handicap reduction of 4.5 over the season."
